In the midst of record homelessness, Mayor Bloomberg and his administration have recently stopped sheltering many families on nights when the temperature dips below freezing. Under his new rules, families with children seeking shelter are callously turned away -- even during "Code Blue" days, when freezing temperatures mean it's far too cold to be outside.
